Coming Soon - Veal Saltimboca

I got glutened, and it knocked me down for three days. Did you know you could get glutened from that compound they use to seal up the cracks in your drywall? I didn't. Not until I cleaned it all up, then got laid up for 3 days. That awful fatigue and soreness came screaming back.

It stunk.

Thank goodness it's done now. But it put me way behind. When this work on our home is done, my family will have a small separate kitchen for their gluten foods. I can go in there, make their lunches, wash my hands and it's behind me. My children can get their granola bars and run out the door to play without ever bringing it into my kitchen.

And my kitchen will be completely gluten free.

We have been doing both in here, mostly for lunches, all the food I cook is gluten free. It has been a challenge having a kitchen do both, and not having any cross contamination. We worked it out. It can be done.

It will be so much better this new way.

Thanks Lori.

I do feel very blessed to be able to do this to my home.My friend has an older home, and she has a butler's pantry, that's the gluten kitchen, and then her regular kitchen is gluten free. That's where I got the idea. :)

Oooh damn! I had heard that dry wall compound contained gluten/wheat paste. Ugh. Sorry you were under the weather. Hope you're feeling much better. Take good care of yourself!

A totally gluten-free kitchen....wow...I'm jealous!!! Sorry you got glutened! I had the same thing happen a couple weeks ago - continual glutenings over a period of a few weeks...just coming out of it now, hopefully! DRYWALL COMPOUND??? I'll have to remember that for when we do get to redo our kitchen! (someday in the really distant future). Well, can't wait till your house is done! Post pics, okay???

That is crazy! I once got hives from hand sanitizer because it had gluten in it. Gluten is everywhere! I am envious of your second kitchen. You will have to tell me how you like it (love it) when it is done. I may have to put it in the dream house plans.

Karina- Thanks for teh well wishes! I am better now, thank goodness. My husband is now doing the dusting/floor cleaning until it is done. That's one good thing that came out of this! :)

B- I miss you too, I stop by and read a couple times a week, I must admit that I don't comment all the time, I will comment again...sorry! :( Forgive me?

Kbabe - Yeah, I was taken aback by this one too. Craziness. My poor contractor, he is trying to clean up as much as he can so I won't get sick, he felt so bad!

Natalie - I know, I can't believe where it is found. It is nuts. I have no doubt that I will love it, I can't wait. Start making your dream plans now. :) Or buy an older home with a bulter's pantry in there already..like my freind. That is a really cool set-up.

Wow, that stinks. Hope you are feeling better. Since I am the cook and grocery-shopper in this house, they just don't get to bring any gluten in unless it's in the form of a frozen pizza or bagged chips. And they keep them on the back porch. The Man has one of those cheesy Pizza Pizzazz thingies out there.
